The Yarra Valley Grammar Debating teams are celebrating an impressive season in the Debaters Association of Victoria (DAV) competition.
Of the four divisions, Yarra Valley Grammar teams won three, which the school described as “a superb outcome”.
The B, C and D Grade teams progressed to the State finals, where they represented the school proudly.
In addition, Noah Cameron (Year 12), Angel Jin (Year 11) and Akshadh Nambiar (Year 10) were acknowledged for their debating prowess with the Swannie at a state-wide ceremony.
Swannies are awarded to the speaker in each region and grade who has the highest average speaker score during the year.
“This is a significant achievement for Noah, Angel and Akshadh,” the school said.
The school gave special commendation to Noah who has now won this prestigious award over three consecutive years.
“Congratulations to all those who took part,” the school said.
