The 2023 Seniors of St Laurence’s College have now completed their Lauries Journey. While they will remain connected with the black and gold as an Old Boy, their time on the Hill has come to an end, the College said.
“This marks an unforgettable milestone for these students, symbolising the culmination of years of hard work, growth and memorable experiences,” a spokesperson said.
While the St Laurence’s College community had the chance to farewell its graduates with a special Graduation Assembly and Spirit Handover, the Seniors and their families came together for a Graduation Mass and Ceremony.
“These occasions are not only a farewell, but they also allow us to honour the academic and VET achievements, co-curricular endeavours and the personal growth of all our young men,” the College said.
The end of their Lauries Journey also pays tribute to the unwavering support and guidance provided by College staff, the Lauries community and all family members who have positively impacted their lives and shaped them into the men they are.
“We hope our new Old Boys will embrace their Hearts of Gold as they leave the College as well-rounded individuals with full hearts, ready to make a positive impact in society. The Senior class of 2023 have given so much to the Lauries community throughout their journey and we wish them all the best in their future endeavours,” a spokesperson said.
“We have faith that our 2024 cohort will pick up where our graduates left off and continue to build the rich tapestry that is St Laurence’s College. Since donning the white shirts in Term 4, we have seen our 2024 Seniors take charge and make a positive impact on College life.”
For the rest of the College who are currently in their final weeks of the academic year, it is a clear focus for all students to finish strong. The final weeks are not just an end, but a culmination of the year’s efforts and it proves to be an important time with exam blocks occurring, assessments being due and key learning still taking place.
At this juncture, it’s essential for students to manage their time efficiently, study consistently, utilise the abundance of resources available to them and maintain a healthy balance in their lives.
“We encourage all students to embrace the challenges ahead of them and to approach the upcoming assessment with confidence. We are proud of all students for navigating the highs and lows of 2023 with perseverance and dedication,” the College said.
