The Ultimo Series 2025 offers members of the International Grammar School community the opportunity to come together for an intellectually invigorating experience with a thought-provoking series of academic lectures.

Hosted by IGS Deputy Principal Academic Mr Thom Marchbank, each session begins with light refreshments and an opportunity to connect with others before hearing from our guest speaker. The series has already sparked rich conversations around some of the most pressing topics in education and society.

In our opening lecture, Young People’s Engagement with Technology, we explored how digital tools are shaping identity, learning and wellbeing. The session offered both research-based insights and practical reflections on how families and educators can support young people in navigating the digital world with confidence and care.

Our second event, Leading the Future with AI, turned the spotlight on the rapidly evolving role of artificial intelligence in education and beyond. The discussion focused on the skills our children will need to thrive in a post-AI world—highlighting the importance of adaptability, creativity and ethical awareness in preparing students for the future.

Looking ahead, we are excited to present our next lecture Helping Neurodiverse Children and Young People Thrive at Home and at School, at 5:45pm Thursday 28 August. This session will offer practical strategies and compassionate perspectives on how to support neurodiverse learners in both academic and home environments. It’s a topic that speaks directly to the IGS values of inclusion, care and respect for every learner’s unique journey.

Discover more about IGS by joining other parents, carers, teachers and alums for an evening of connection and learning. Enhance your perspective, contribute to meaningful dialogues, and be part of a community committed to knowledge, diversity and growth.

Attendance is free but booking is required. Visit https://events.humanitix.com/igs-the-ultimo-series-2025
