A Year 11 student from Moriah College in Sydney was selected to be part of the Australian Schoolboys Football squad after an impressive performance playing for NSW at the recent School Sport Australian National Football Championships in Brisbane.

Jared Frack’s selection into the Under 16s Australian Schoolboys Football team is the highest level of representation possible at school level. He will represent Australia in England and Ireland in January 2020.

Over the last five years, Jared has showcased his skills on the football field, contributing to the success of the Moriah football program since 2014. His dedication and talent have helped his team to win four Peninsula Cup titles (two 14 Years Championships and two 16 Years Championships) and two CDSSA titles (Junior and Senior Championships).

According to Jared, the pinnacle of team success was competing in Moriah’s 15 Years and Under squad in the 2017 and 2018 National Bill Turner Cup Football Championships, winning the Area Championships two years in a row and finishing 6th out of over 430 schools in 2017, and 16th in 2018.

“Jared’s ability is compounded by his positive attitude and willingness to work hard,” says Dom Helene, Moriah’s Director of Sport and Head of PDHPE. “He is a humble young man who brings about confidence within his teammates through his actions. It is evident that when Jared is on the field that his peers feel more confident. He has been a pleasure to teach and work with at Moriah, and I have no doubt that this is the beginning of much more success for Jared.”

Jared has had great success at representative level through both the school’s football program and through external pathways. In 2018, Jared was the youngest member of the 16 Years and Under NSWCIS team, narrowly missing out on NSW selection. This year, he has gone through every schoolboy level (CDSSA, AICES, NSWCIS, NSW, All Schools, and Australian Schoolboys).

In addition, Jared played at representative level with Hakoah at the age of 12 in both Football and Futsal, winning three National Premier League Futsal titles in a row.

This year, Jared helped to lead the Hakoah 16 Years Boys to the club’s first-ever National Premier League Youth title. Jared was also selected for the Metropolitan East’s squads in 2015 and 2017 and made the NSW team in 2017.
