International Grammar School (IGS) is proud to have Vanessa Hill, an outstanding Music Specialist, who brings a creative and innovative approach to Early Learning.

Her extensive expertise in music education, combined with her deep passion for engaging young minds, makes her an invaluable part of IGS’s Early Learning team.

“Having a dedicated music specialist in an Early Learning Centre is rare, and we are delighted to provide this enriching experience to our youngest learners,” the school said.

Music is more than just an art form at IGS – it is a dynamic and integral part of early education. Its music program is grounded in internationally recognised methodologies such as Kodály, Orff Schulwerk and Dalcroze, which encourage children to experience music in a hands-on, playful and immersive way. Through singing, movement, rhythm games and instrumental play, children not only develop a love for music but also build essential cognitive, motor and communication skills.

Vanessa’s passion for music education extends beyond teaching melodies and rhythms; she fosters creativity, self-expression and confidence in every child. Whether clapping to a steady beat, experimenting with sounds or engaging in group music-making, children gain a sense of belonging and joy in their learning environment. Her engaging sessions encourage active participation, collaboration and storytelling through music, helping children develop foundational skills that support their overall growth.

The Early Learning Music Program at IGS is a fundamental part of the curriculum, supporting children’s physical, emotional and social development in alignment with the Early Years Learning Framework. Music is a powerful tool for self-expression, and through song, dance and drama, children learn to communicate their feelings and ideas in a way that words alone cannot capture. This reflects the philosophy of the ‘100 languages of learning’ embedded in IGS’s vibrant curriculum, celebrating diverse forms of communication and creativity.

By integrating music into daily learning experiences, IGS provides a nurturing and stimulating environment where children’s curiosity is encouraged and their voices are heard – whether through a simple tune, a rhythmic movement or a joyful improvisation.

“At IGS, we believe that music is not just something children listen to; it is something they experience, explore and embrace as part of their journey of discovery,” the school said.

Give your child the gift of music and a strong foundation for lifelong learning. Join IGS’s vibrant Early Learning community and experience the transformative power of Melody in Motion.
