The Class of 2016 continued the record of outstanding HSC results at Mount St Benedict College, Pennant Hills. Guided by their motto ‘Make the Woman, Make the World’, Year 12 students distinguished themselves through their commitment to their studies, joy of learning and excellent relationships with dedicated and professional staff at the College.
In its 50th year of educating young women, the College was ranked as the 16th best performing of all Catholic schools in NSW and overall 86th best performing school in NSW*.
Three students were named on the All Rounders List, recognising achievement of a Band 6 (or its equivalent) in ten HSC units (including English). The girls were Nicole Zeaiter, Samantha Hardman and Amy Maher.
Nicole Zeaiter achieved the highest known ATAR at the College of 99.10.
The College Principal Maria Pearson congratulated students on excellent results.
“Our academic results continue to give us every reason to be so proud of our girls,” Mrs Pearson said.
“These are young women who will be leaders of the future – articulate, confident and intelligent decision-makers.”
This year the College had 135 mentions on the Distinguished Achievers List.
In 28 of the 34 courses attempted the mean examination mark for the College was higher than the State’s mean and in 80% of these courses the mean was at least 5 marks higher than the State’s mean.
An estimated 29% of the eligible cohort achieved an ATAR over 90, 58% achieved an ATAR over 80 and 83% achieved an ATAR over 70.
