Kingswood College’s commitment to inspiring the minds of its students was evident at its inaugural Careers & Subject Expo held towards the end of Term 2.
Head of Senior School Mr Rob Fuller said Kingswood College was packed with students from Years 9 – 12, parents, staff and alumni.
“These opportunities are fantastic for our students to get a better understanding of what the College offers and how different pathways can lead them to their preferred future,” he said.
“The feedback we received from students, parents, expo exhibitors and staff was nothing but positive. Our families appreciated the opportunity to converse with representatives from 30 educational institutions, ranging from small providers to the largest universities in Australia. We aimed to cater for an incredibly wide range of interests, from law to aviation, photography and animation, it was evident our community left with a sense of excitement and inspiration.”
Kingswood College VCE Teachers and Heads of Department were also in attendance, creating an opportunity for families to have one-on-one discussions regarding the content and opportunities of their VCE subjects.
“At Kingswood College, we offer all the 11 most popular Units 3 & 4 subjects, and 26 of the 30 most popular, with our RTO status enabling us to offer more hands-on options such as Creative & Digital Media and VET Cookery,” Mr Fuller said.
“Moreover, we have other crucial options such as Chinese Second Language and Music Repertoire Performance. Naturally, our Units 1 & 2 offerings provide clear entry points for each of these subjects. We are incredibly proud to offer a broad and diverse VCE program and are committed to continuously offering as many subjects as we can.”
Several Alumni also attended the Careers & Subject Expo as part of the College’s Alumni Hub.
“In having past students from Class of 2020 all the way to the Class of 1977, each were able to offer unique pieces of advice based on their career journey and experiences at Kingswood College. Our community was inspired by the adventures of our Alumni, from marketing to law and even professional sport, we were so grateful to all who attended,” Mr Fuller said.
“We are so happy to have provided such a valuable event to our school community. Our 2025 Careers & Subject Expo promises to be another night full of possibilities to inspire minds and embolden hearts.”
