The development of Hillcrest Christian College’s highly anticipated $23 million Innovation Building is well underway, with two floors already nearing structural completion.
Progress on the build is moving swiftly, keeping the project well on track for its planned opening in early 2026.
This transformative four-storey facility is being constructed in the heart of Hillcrest’s Reedy Creek campus and will provide a state-of-the-art environment designed to support innovation, entrepreneurship, and future-focused learning across all year levels.
In partnership with Alder Constructions, PROCON and Detail Studio architects, Hillcrest is bringing to life a bold vision that aligns with the College’s SHIELD framework and learner-centric philosophy. The Innovation Building will feature open-plan collaborative learning zones, fully equipped TV and film production studios, podcast rooms, fabrication labs, a visual arts gallery, and flexible-use areas suited for exhibitions, performances, and events.
The project also includes a strong sustainability focus, with natural timber cladding, integrated solar technology, energy-efficient lighting, and environmentally conscious cooling and lighting systems.
Now deep into Stage 2 of construction, the building’s steel framework is rising rapidly, with two of the four levels approaching full structural completion. The project timeline is heading towards the core of the structure to be completed by January 2025 with external installations and internal fit to commence in 2026.
