Getting ready for the big leap to school is an exciting milestone for children and families. Guardian Childcare & Education believes every child deserves the best possible start. That’s why it has introduced its Flying Start to School preschool/kindergarten program.

Designed for children aged 3-4 and 4-5 years old, our unique Flying Start to School combines fun, learning, and development through a two-tier program to meet the needs of each age group.

Curious about how Flying Start to School can help your child soar into school life with confidence? Read on to learn all about what makes our program ideal for 3-5 year olds.

What is Flying Start to School?

Our early childhood education experts have carefully designed this preschool/kindergarten initiative that focuses on building essential skills in a safe, stimulating environment. It’s about equipping children with those important emotional, social, and cognitive tools they need to smoothly transition to primary school.

What sets our program apart are the two-tier development pathways, which allow our teams to better support children in their care based on their age and ‘readiness’.

What are the ‘two-tier development pathways’ in Flying Start to School?

For 3-year-olds: The first year of Flying Start to School focuses on fostering curiosity, confidence, and foundational skills through play-based learning. Children explore their world, build friendships, and practice critical developmental milestones like communication, early literacy, and problem-solving, in a warm, supportive environment.

Here’s a sneak peek at what 3-year-olds will experience:

  • Imaginative play to spark creativity
  • Hands-on learning activities like painting, building, and storytelling
  • Encouragement to express themselves and try new things
  • Guided sessions to develop fine motor skills

Each experience is designed to support their natural sense of wonder and joy, while laying the groundwork for future learning.

For 4-year-olds: The second tier steps things up, focusing on preparing children for the transition to ‘big school’. Building on their earlier experiences, 4-year-olds engage in activities that develop independence, collaboration, and a deeper understanding of the world around them.

4-year-olds will take part in experiences such as:

  • Pre-reading and pre-writing activities like letter recognition and story analysis
  • Early numeracy through fun games and puzzles
  • Teamwork and social skills development through group projects
  • Confidence-building experiences like show-and-tell

These experiences ensure that when the time comes to start school, children feel confident and prepared for the big adventure ahead.

Why choose our Flying Start to School preschool/kindergarten program?

We understand that every child learns differently and at their own pace. That’s why our Flying Start to School is flexible, dynamic, and designed around your child’s unique needs.

Here are just a few of the benefits children can enjoy throughout the program:

  • Play-Based Learning: We believe that children learn best when they’re actively engaged in play, which is why our program combines fun with learning.
  • Experienced Educators: Our team of passionate and highly trained educators use evidence-based practices to guide your child every step of the way.
  • Community Connection: We foster a sense of belonging for children and families, creating a strong community that values relationships.
  • Safe and Nurturing Spaces: Our learning environments are thoughtfully designed to inspire curiosity and exploration while ensuring your little one feels at home.

Our Guardian philosophy in action

Flying Start to School is more than just school preparation – it’s an extension of our commitment to your child’s early years’ development. We blend our philosophy of curiosity-led learning with age-appropriate practices to empower children – while encouraging their natural love of discovery.

We value communication, and we keep families in the loop every step of the way with regular updates, feedback, and open discussions.

Are you ready to give your child a Flying Start to School?

There’s no better way to prepare your child for a confident and successful transition to school than immersing them in our preschool/kindergarten program. Each day provides an opportunity to grow, learn, and – most importantly – have fun.
