A focus on delivering world ready students is behind new curriculum offerings being featured at the Canterbury College Twilight Open Day in Queensland.

Taking place on Wednesday 16 October 2019, from 4.00-6:30pm, the Canterbury College Twilight Open Day is a relaxed marketplace-style event with academic displays, co-curricular displays, music performances, and staff and student ambassadors on hand to share their experiences with guests.

Exciting new subjects in the Secondary School such as Philosophy and Logic, World History, Psychology, Netball Academy, Psychology, Chinese Extension and Business, Economics and Entrepreneurship will be available from 2020, providing greater flexibility in subject choice right from Year 7 to enable students to design their own futures.

High quality teaching and learning initiatives also feature in the Junior School, with THRASS, iTime and Spark programs being recently introduced into these younger classrooms.

Principal Daniel Walker noted that the changes are key to the Waterford school’s focus on developing students into young adults in charge of their own destiny.

“We’re delighted to include these new additions to our already impressive list of academic subjects,” he said. “Canterbury has always and continues to offer an inclusive community and individual pathways for all students.”

All interested families are invited to attend the Canterbury College Twilight Open Day and no RSVPs are required.

Canterbury College is an award-winning college where all students can achieve their academic, spiritual, social and cultural potential in inspiring surroundings. Situated on 30 hectares of natural bushland, grassed ovals and landscaped grounds, the school has a well-earned reputation as one of Queensland’s most innovative independent schools.

Founded in 1987, the school educates over 1400 students from Kindergarten to Year 12.

Canterbury College enrolments are now open for 2021 and 2022 with a few places remaining for 2020. For more information on the event please click here.
