Academy of Mary Immaculate, the oldest girls’ school in Victoria, has congratulated two exceptional students whose academic achievements have been recognised at the 2024 Premier’s VCE Awards, held in July at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre.
The annual Premier’s VCE Awards recognise students who have demonstrated outstanding achievement in the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE).
“We are incredibly proud of these students and their teachers. Their determination, creativity and discipline exemplify the spirit of excellence that defines our learning community,” expressed Principal, Sister Mary Moloney.

Harper Smith (Year 12, 2024) – Drama
Harper received a perfect study score of 50 in Drama as part of her 2024 VCE results. Her expressive talent, critical insight, and commitment to performance have earned her well-deserved recognition on a state level.
Alice Portz (Year 11, 2024; now Year 12, 2025) – Creative and Digital Media
Alice also achieved a perfect study score of 50 in Creative and Digital Media in 2024. A passionate and forward-thinking student, Alice demonstrates outstanding creativity and technical skill in her work.
“It was an honour to be recognised at this Victorian State level and also getting to see everyone else who has been awarded this amazing achievement,” Alice said.
“Congratulations to both students – their hard work, tenacity and courage have been recognised in one of the state’s highest academic honours,” the school said.
