Academy of Mary Immaculate has congratulated its 2024 College Dux, Harper Smith, who achieved an ATAR of 99.65.
“I was very shocked and happy, I couldn’t believe it!,” Harper said on receiving her results.
Harper is considering studying a Bachelor of Arts with a Diploma of Maths at the University of Melbourne and would love to study overseas but has much to consider.
“My passion lies more in Art but I do like maths and I also love the idea of screen and cultural studies, politics or international relations. I could even take a gap year!”
Harper said the key to her success was to study what she enjoyed most.
“I’m very competitive and motivated but I did the best in the subjects I enjoyed, so I was willing to put in the hard work. I also had excellent teachers who were very helpful and supportive.”
Harper is an all-round achiever having achieved two perfect scores – a 50 for Drama this year and a perfect score of 50 for General Mathematics in 2023. Harper also studied Specialist Mathematics, Mathematical Methods, Japanese and English with outstanding results. This year Harper was also a dedicated member of the Student Leadership team.
The Academy of Mary Immaculate community also congratulated the Class of 2024 on their outstanding results.
