St Margaret's Anglican Girls School Ascot Brisbane is an independent day and boarding school for girls from Pre-Prep to Year 12. Situated high on a hill in the inner north Brisbane suburb of Ascot, the school also accepts boys in Pre-Prep and Prep.

St Margaret’s was established in 1895 by the Sisters of the Society of the Sacred Advent. Ahead of the times in their desire to further the educational opportunities available to girls, especially those from rural areas, the Sisters laid down strong foundations that have endured for over 120 years. The School’s mission has always been to provide excellence in teaching and learning to create well-rounded, confident, compassionate, capable women. A St Margaret’s education is based on six core values: courage, faith, integrity, passion, respect and spirit.

A local school with a global outlook, St Margaret’s is committed to providing the right opportunities and environment for students to develop their cultural literacy, expand their horizons and adopt a global way of thinking. Students are offered a variety of unique opportunities for international learning through an extensive exchange and tour program. Primary students can participate in a cultural trip to Japan, while the school’s unique Global Exchange Program offers Year 10 students the chance to study for a term in one of ten schools in seven countries worldwide. Other opportunities include cultural and language trips, music tours and philanthropic adventures.

Boarding is an integral part of life at St Margaret's, and 170 girls from Years 5 to 12 are accommodated at the school. The boarding house is a wonderfully diverse community with boarders coming from near and far from both within Australia and overseas. This diversity adds a cultural richness to the school, creating a unique sense of community and enhanced cultural awareness.

Families can learn more at the school’s Open Days in March or August or by arranging a personalised tour through the Admissions team on 07 3862 0777.
