The King’s School

The King’s School is an Independent, Anglican, Day and Boarding School for Boys.  Founded in 1831 by command of King William IV of England, King’s is Australia’s oldest independent school.  The King’s School strives to provide Australia with its next generation of leaders.

At King’s we believe our appeal as a school today rests in our strong sense of community, the values we celebrate, our commitment to realising the potential of young men, and providing a balanced education that addresses the academic, social, emotional, physical and spiritual aspects of our students’ lives.

Participation in sport is considered as an important part of the educational philosophy at King’s. We cater for boys at all levels in a wide variety of sports and the experiences gained in all areas are supportive of the educational aims of the School.

King’s diverse co-curricular program includes cadets, debating, mock trial, choir, drama & muscials, bands and ensembles, Duke of Edinburgh award scheme and some 20 other co-curricular clubs and activities.

Special Programs

  • The International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program of our Preparatory School encourages boys to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners.  In Senior School, our Leadership and Boys to Men Programs serve to ensure that we educate our young men for life well beyond the school gates.

Facilities

  • The facilities at The King’s School are generous and set on some 120 hectares. Facilities include the Centre for Learning and Leadership, which as the library and conference centre, is at the very centre of the School. Many of the School’s facilities including its halls, music centre, classrooms, drama centre and sports hall are used by the broader community. The quality of the facilities translates into a remarkable environment in which learning is optimised.
